Our MO(o): To build real and lasting relationships with people in our community. To break down and maintain a break in that invisible wall between housed and unhoused people. And to take a strong and consistent stance against the narratives that our faulty systems and social norms condition us to believe. Ahem. Goofy, chaotic and casually. To distribute essential items to those unhoused in and around Santa Rita park. |
What The **** is
The term mutual aid is by definition - a voluntary, reciprocal exchange of resources and support among community members, often in response to unmet needs or systemic inequalities. Mutual aid can look like many different things! bringing milk to a neighbor when they run out. watching a friends child so she can have some *me* time. instead of thinking "transactionally" - try to think of... love. what do you do for those you love? and how can someone show you love today? community is everything! |
What does it look like?
cow has been running for 5 years!
Our events look like a pop up free market! every week we set up our tables and provide free hygiene, food, beverages, clothing, harm reduction and medical supplies! everyone is welcome. housed or unhoused. we aim to maintain as close to "no Barrier" as possible. we also have a wonderful team of people with many amazing skills. We have volunteer case managers, registered nurses, medics, outreach workers and more! we are a weird alternative bunch but we love what we do. |
